Cherry recognized in Demolition and Environmental Recycling category
HOUSTON (November 19, 2009)—Houston-based Cherry was named a finalist in the 2009 International Demolition Awards competition, sponsored by Demolition and Recycling International magazine in conjunction with the European Demolition Association.
The International Demolition Awards recognize large and small demolition contractors for excellence in demolition best practices, health and safety, innovation in demolition techniques and environmental responsibility. Awards are given in 12 categories.
Cherry earned accolades for its overall work in the award competition’s Demolition and Environmental Recycling category. This category recognized companies that commit to reducing their operations’ environmental impact, use effective recycling strategies, demonstrate “green” working practices, invest in cleaner equipment and control operational noise, pollution and disturbance. The category was won by Costello Demolition of Middlesboro, Mass.
